March will be a good month for forests: before the celebration of the International Day of Forests in Geneva on March 21sth, Paris will host the Colloquium on forest plantation: Recent advances in R&D on March 19th.
This colloquium is open to researchers, practitioners, decision makers, associations and students. It aims to present and discuss the results of recent R & D work on the theme of forest plantation. This work aims to innovate planting practices, to improve the multiple performances (technical, economic, environmental, social) of the plantation. The symposium is organized as part of the CAPSOL project and will take place at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food in Paris. You can take a look at the Preliminary program or register here.
A day later, on March 20th , the debate Climate Change And Forest Fires In Europe will take place in Brussels hosted by MEP Nuno Melo, MEP Esther Herranz García and MEP Andrzej Grzyb and organized by CEPF, COPA COGECA, ELO and EUSTAFOR. The event will include interventions from hosting MEPs Jesús San-Miguel-Ayanz, Senior Scientist, JRC; Humberto Delgado Rosa, Director, DG ENV; Pierre Bascou, Director, DG AGRI and Johannes Luchner, Director, DG ECHO.
